Abstrak | Head loss always occurs in every fluid flow. This research's aim is to analyze the fluid tlow across the cylinder pipe in closed square duct. Three kind of testing fluids are used: water, water + 5% glycerin mixtures, and water + 10% glycerin mixtures. Two variants of 30 mm diameter cylinder pipes: smooth pipe and rough pipe, are used as bluff body; placed horizontally across the closed square duct. Pressure distribution is measured at the cylinder pipe wall. The comparative result between the smooth and rough pipes showed that, separation angle in rough pipe move to downstream in the same Reynolds number. There is reduction in drag coefficients for rough pipe, compared with the smooth pipe. Increased viscosity increases drag coefficient fOT both smooth pipe and rough pipe, in range of Reynolds number between ยท+000until 7500 |
